A New Dance Season Means New Doors

We know it’s a new season.

And honestly, there are probably a whole bunch of doors sitting in front of us just waiting to be opened.

Maybe it’s a new curriculum. A different approach in the classroom. Better customer service. Better follow-through with those trial students. A new way to communicate with parents. Or choreography that makes you think, YES… this is why I love dance.

Some of those doors may be exciting.

Some may be a little scary.

And some may be doors we have walked past 47 times because we were too busy answering emails, fixing schedules, finding a missing shoe, or wondering why nobody told us the toilet was overflowing.

But maybe this is the season to open a few.

Actually, let’s not just open them.

Let’s fly through them.

Let’s make this a year of evolution.

Evolution in the way we teach.

Evolution in the way we lead.

Evolution in what we know.

Evolution in how we serve our dancers and families.

And maybe even an evolution in our own love for dance.

Let’s keep learning. Keep trying. Keep getting smarter. Keep doing things that make us feel good about the work we are doing.

We do not have to change everything.

But we also do not have to keep doing something just because “that’s the way we’ve always done it.”

It’s a new season. There are new doors. Go dance through a few of them.
